On 1st October 1960 Nigeria’s first Prime Minister Abubakar Tafawa Balewa announced the country’s independence on what was then known as ‘The Racecourse’.
Now this location is better known as Tafawa Balewa Square and we know it best as the location of the Lagos International Trade Fair
